Matthew Lorenzo

 

Matthew Lorenzo is a journalist and broadcaster turned filmmaker. He has worked for the Guardian and the Times and Sunday Times and has presented a variety of programming for the BBC, Sky, ITV, GMTV and Channel Four. 

He remains the youngest presenter ever to host a networked World Cup.

He produced the critically acclaimed feature documentary on English footballer Bobby Moore,“Bobby,” in 2016, was Executive Producer on “Bobby Robson - the Man and the Manager” and produced “The United Way with Eric Cantona” which secured a global release in May 2021 and was nominated for Sports Documentary of the Year.

His film, “Hurst The First and Only,” premiered on Sky in November 2022. It gained four star reviews from The Sunday Times, The Telegraph and The Mail and was described by The Mirror as “A stunning documentary…searingly powerful.”

His film on Brighton and Hove Albion’s 25 year rise from the verge of extinction to the Premier League, “Stand or Fall,” is set for release in summer 2024.

His latest documentary, “The King of All Cons,” is in production and will be released as a Sky Original in March 2025.

Lorenzo spends his spare time waiting for West Ham to win the Champions League.
